Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form goes to the third-party provider that operates that result route. We do not keep a separate server copy of those search terms. A direct message contains the information provided in that message and is used to reply.
Automatic Technical Data
Our hosting services may log an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We use aggregate information for maintenance and to understand page-use patterns. Cookies or comparable technologies can support basic analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How Technical Data Is Used
We use the limited data described above to operate the reference, address technical problems, count traffic, and improve pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who May Process Data
Hosting and support providers process server logs for the reference. Analytics and advertising providers may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information only when valid legal process requires it.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where you live, you may be able to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data held by a website. Tennessee Public Records Act procedures for government custodians are set out in T.C.A. §§ 10-7-501 et seq., especially § 10-7-503, and do not govern this private reference. Tennessee vital certificates are separately protected by T.C.A. § 68-3-205. Because we retain little, a request usually concerns a contact message or server log. Use the Contact page for a request; send a request for a Tennessee, Davidson County, or Metro record to its custodian.
Updates to This Policy
We will post revisions to this policy here. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
